After the Shoah, Jewish theologians could no longer accept that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and benevolent. If our previous metaphors for and understandings of God no longer match our human experiences, how can we reimagine and understand God today? Looking at the writings of feminist and queer theologians, we will explore different Jewish metaphors and understandings of God, particularly those which focus on previously suppressed feminine and queer experiences of the Divine.
